On My Way!

The only thing about travelling that I am beginning to like less and less is the getting there.  It is currently 7 am and in about an hour I will be heading to the airport to take the three flights that will get me to Venice around 1:30 tomorrow afternoon.  I am going to be a zombie by then as I cannot sleep on planes.  However, what awaits there makes it all worthwhile.

There has been some fog, apparently, the last couple of days in Venice which makes for some very interesting photography.  Two years ago when I went to Carnival, through my friends here I met a photographer (based in Australia) and a French woman who creates the most amazing costumes.  Last time, her costume was turquoise and had a stag on her head.  This year's theme is a flamingo.  The photographer (Kah Kit Yoong) has done several photo shoots with Ann Sophie and her costume is amazing.  The one taken in yesterday's fog is particularly stunning.

So, this is the first group of what I am hoping will be lots of fabulous photos of the imaginative creations one can see in Venice during this world famous event.  Of course, the next ones will be taken mostly by me rather than a professional so they might not be quite so striking!  However, first I just have to get through the next 18 hours or so before I get there!
